This organization has a comprehensive program for people living with or at risk of contracting hepatitis C.  Services include: testing, individual counselling and support, referrals to assessment for treatment as well as access to additional community and social supports such as housing, food bank services, addiction support and assistance with transportation.  A Hep C support group is offered every other month for pre-treatment and treatment clients.  A needle exchange program is part of their larger harm reduction initiative.

This community organization provides services for people living with HIV and/or hepatitis C in the region. This includes: individual non-judgmental listening, support, counselling and treatment monitoring on-site and in clients’ homes. They focus on empowerment and prevention education for their clients and community members, and give workshops on HIV and Hepatitis C. Actions sida Côte-Nord is based in Sept-Iles and provides a variety of information and services to people living with hepatitis C, HIV and those who are co-infected. ASCN does Hep C and HIV presentations in local schools and detention centres. Other available services include: harm reduction outreach and education in the community, a needle exchange and condom distribution program, counselling and referrals for clients (both on-site and at their clients’ homes), and accompaniment to medical appointments.

Hep-tonic is a cool new program that provides education to youth and adults on Hep C, HIV and other blood borne infections. Looking at things from a harm reduction perspective, the Hep-tonic program strives to increase awareness of prevention and transmission of Hep C, as well as access to testing, care, treatment information and referrals.
