This organization has a comprehensive program for people living with or at risk of contracting hepatitis C. Services include: testing, individual counselling and support, referrals to assessment for treatment as well as access to additional community and social supports such as housing, food bank services, addiction support and assistance with transportation. A Hep C support group is offered every other month for pre-treatment and treatment clients. A needle exchange program is part of their larger harm reduction initiative.

Hep-tonic is a cool new program that provides education to youth and adults on Hep C, HIV and other blood borne infections. Looking at things from a harm reduction perspective, the Hep-tonic program strives to increase awareness of prevention and transmission of Hep C, as well as access to testing, care, treatment information and referrals. Hep-tonic provides people with accurate information and education.

The Toronto chapter of the CLF offers a “Living with Liver Disease” program for people living with a variety of liver diseases, including Hep C. This education/support group is for people living with or affected by hepatitis C. Discussions will include topics such as Hep C 101, harm reduction, treatment, stigma, and taking care of oneself.
Meetings are twice a month and the first session is on November 24th at 11 a.m. Meetings are held in Thunder Bay but people who are located elsewhere in the region can participate via videoconference, using the Ontario Telemedicine Network.
