APAA offers Hep C education and outreach as well as referrals to partner organizations for people living with Hep C.  Interpretation and translation services for several African languages are available and accompaniment to other agencies, social services and medical appointments can be arranged.

Hep-tonic is a cool new program that provides education to youth and adults on Hep C, HIV and other blood borne infections. Looking at things from a harm reduction perspective, the Hep-tonic program strives to increase awareness of prevention and transmission of Hep C, as well as access to testing, care, treatment information and referrals. Hep-tonic provides people with accurate information and education.

The ACOL provides a variety of services to people living with, affected by or at risk of contracting hepatitis C.  Services include: individual counselling and support, referrals and advocacy for testing, treatment and accessing other social services, Hep C information sessions, harm reduction education and access to several support groups.  A needle exchange program and harm reduction supplies are available onsite.

ACSC provide support to people who are co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C living in the Simcoe region.  They have Hep C information resources at their office locations and they include Hep C prevention education as part of their community outreach workshops and presentations.

Some CHCs are beginning to provide a multidisciplinary approach in dealing with Hep C which includes Hep C prevention and support, health care services, and needle exchange programs. This directory provides contact information for CHCs in Ontario.

The Canadian Coalition of Organizations Responding to Hepatitis B and C unites organizations and individuals to focus increased attention on the response to hepatitis B and C.

The Toronto chapter of the CLF offers a “Living with Liver Disease” program for people living with a variety of liver diseases, including Hep C. The program provides an opportunity for people to learn more about their disease, treatment, coping strategies and healthy living as well as a space to share personal experiences and to gain knowledge from both peers and guest speakers.  The group meets the first Monday of every month except for January, July, August, September and holidays.

CPAOC is composed of non-governmental organizations, incarcerated people and ex-incarcerated people across Canada that work with people in prison on HCV/HIV/AIDS and/or human rights, health promotion and harm reduction issues.

The mandate of CPAOC is to advocate for human rights, harm reduction (such as Prison-based Needle and Syringe Programs) in regards to HCV/HIV/AIDS and other systemic issues in all federal prisons and provincial institutions in Canada.

This Hep C education, support and treatment program is for current and former alcohol and/or drug users in Toronto who have difficulty accessing care and treatment for their Hep C. This program is in partnership between Regent Park CHC, South Riverdale CHC and Sherbourne Health Centre.  Individual support and counselling are available to clients with Hep C.  Harm reduction materials, including needle and crack pipe distribution, are also available.

As part of the Ontario Hepatitis C Nursing Program, the Group Health Centre in Sault Ste. Marie has a Hepatitis C Program that offers RNA testing, treatment and individual support to people living with Hep C. A Hep C nurse and doctor work collaboratively to provide health care to people who have either been self-referred to the program, referred by their doctors or a community agency.  You can call to make an appointment.
